Choosing A Painting Medium

There are many types of paint to work with: acrylics, slow drying acrylics, watercolour, gouache, tempera, oil, watersoluble oil, oil stick, encaustic and spray paint. Each type of paint has it's own characteristics and advantages. Many artists work in mixed media using multiple painting and drawing mediums.
