Due to the parafin content and highly refined mineral oil, they will never harden completely. Therefore, all finished work should be mounted under glass. Holbein Artists’ Oil Pastels can be applied to almost any ground. They are used extensively over finished acrylic and oil paintings. Unlike oil Pastels that uses vegetable oil, Holbein Artists’ Oil Pastels are inert once laid down and will not dry out or crack.
