Liquitex offers a variety of mediums that will adjust the handling characteristics of acrylic paint. Gloss and Matte Medium being the most common. We carry only a few of the specialty mediums. Others can be brought in upon request.
Flow Aid For artists and creatives that need more free-flowing acrylic paint with the same brilliant colors, Flow-Aid Medium increases the flow without dilution. This handy medium allows you to achieve an even lay-down in flat brushing techniques, also known as hard edge painting. It results in clean lines and smooth surfaces while also producing better, deeper staining techniques typically utilized in color field painting. Mixing Flow-Aid with acrylics also can create a fluid spray for airbrushes or air guns.
Masking Fluid lets artists temporarily block out areas of work so they can create sharp lines and defined effects. Paint it on to the areas to protect, leave to dry and apply acrylic color or spray paint. Once the color dries, simply peel away the masked area. Fabric Medium Mix with any acrylic or oil color to make fabric painting easier. It thins acrylic paints to a dye-like consistency, controls bleeding on fabric and prevents skips on rough textures. Paint will flow more smoothly without getting sticky, so that the artist can create fine lines with ease and accuracy.
Gloss Medium Mix this fluid medium and varnish into any acrylic paint to enhance the depth of color intensity, increase transparency, gloss, ease flow of paint and add flexibility and adhesion of paint film. You can also use it as a non-removable varnish to protect painting and establish gloss sheen surface. Apply it to any surface (flexible and inflexible) including canvas, paper or wood.

Color
Matte Medium Mix this medium with acrylic paint to create a flat finish and extend your colors. It creates a matte, non-reflecting finish and can also be mixed with gloss medium to vary the paint sheen from matte to satin. It also increases film integrity, eases the flow of paint and adds flexibility and adhesion to the paint film.

Pouring Medium Pour on the color! Designed not to craze (crack) or warp, this pouring medium creates even poured puddles and acrylic sheets - ideal for marbling and other fun effects. It can be mixed with soft body acrylic color to promote drying, producing a smooth, even, colored film. It also retains high gloss and an attractive, eye-catching appearance when dry.
