Inglewood Art carries a variety of textured surfaces suitable for pastel and charcoal drawing. Pastel paper tends to come in a variety of muted shades and is textured/sanded in order for the soft pastel or charcoal to be easily layered. Pastels and Charcoal can also be used on a variety paper types and some artists will prefer a white surface or a smooth surface to work on. Drawing, Printmaking or Watercolour Papers such as Stonehenge, BFK Rives, or Arches Hotpress Watercolour paper are often used by drawers and pastel artists alike so it is wise to experiment with what surface works best for you. It is also important to note that Dry Media Ground, Pastel Ground are often used by artists so they work on other surfaces such as board or canvas in a non traditional manner.
