Set of 15 For painting pictures, letters, etc. On natural fabric (will not work on synthetics or permanent press). Permanent colours won’t wash out.
➡ Step 1: Select the right fabric To make the brilliant colors of Fabric Fun® Pastel Dye Sticks stand out, choose solid white or light colored fabrics. Fabrics such as cotton or silk are ideal. Avoid those made of 100% synthetic fiber such as nylon. Such fabrics may not withstand the temperatures of ironing of or absorb the colors as well.
➡ Step 2: Wash out the starch All starch must be removed from the fabric so the colors can be absorbed by the fibers and not wash out. Dry the material and iron it to produce a smooth surface. For best results, stretch and pin the fabric to a piece of cardboard or press it firmly and evenly against a smooth, hard surface such as a desk or table.
➡ Step 3: Application Apply Fabric Fun® Pastel Dye Sticks to the fabric with even strokes in one direction only to assure a smooth, unbroken layer of color. Various shadings can be produced by rubbing different colors with your finger tip and blending then together. If you make a mistake, wash immediately.
Note: Pentel cannot guarantee that the colors will be removed completely from natural material before the dyes have been fixed using an iron.
➡ Step 4: Making color permanent Once you are satisfied with your design, cover it with a piece of paper and press it with a hot iron to set the dyes. Now your design is permanent and washable.
